Scheme Romiley Active Neighbourhoods & Links

A package of improvements including crossings, cycling and walking routes and an Active Neighbourhood.

Scheme description

Stockport Council, working in partnership with representatives of a local community group, has created this scheme that includes a number of measures that not only improve connectivity on bike and on foot, but make the area a more pleasant, and attractive place for the local community. The scheme will deliver improvements for pedestrians and cyclists, improved connectivity to the town centre and incorporate community projects such as parklets and trampolines and an Active Neighbourhood north of Compstall Road. A safe cycle route to Stockport town centre via Werneth and Harrytown High Schools is included, as well as a number of side road improvements, continuous footways and new crossing points to make movement easier between communities.
